LEED & Title 24
Green Building and Sustainability are the buzz words of today’s construction world.
With more than 95% of Tanner Engineering’s projects in California, we have been designing to Title 24 and filing the required paperwork since the company was founded.
With a LEED Accredited Professional with specialty in BD&C (Building Design and Construction) on staff, we have contributed to the successful certification of many LEED Platinum, Gold and Silver projects. Our electrical engineering and documentation on these projects have successfully gained points via SSc8 (SS-Light Pollution Reduction), EAp2 (EA-Minimum Energy Performance), EAc1 (EA-Optimize Energy Performance), EAc2 (EA-On-Site Renewable Energy), and EQc6.1 (EQ-Controllability of Systems – Lighting)
La Maestra Community Health Center
City Heights, San Diego, CA
La Maestra is a grassroots, community-based organization. They specialize in providing healthcare, education, and social services to diverse, low income, uninsured, and underinsured residents of San Diego County’s emerging communities.
This new 34,660 sq ft community health center was the first LEED Gold certified clinic in the United States. The electrical design focused on energy efficiency and function.
The electrical-related LEED credits achieved included: Sustainable Sites – light pollution reduction, Energy & Atmosphere – optimize energy performance, and Indoor Environmental Quality – interior lighting. Additionally, the building was designed to allow for future photovoltaic panels on the roof.
State-of-the-art lighting was implemented and achieved 25% under Title 24 values, qualifying for SDG&E’s Savings by Design Program.
