Solano County Central Plant
District Central Plant Upgrade
Solano County District Central Plant – Fairfield CA
Solano County, is in the northeastern part of the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area region of California. As part of the $107 Million project to construct the new government center, Tanner Engineering designed the District Central Plant upgrade project. This co-generation plant serves the 3 city blocks of government facilities, including: an administration center that consolidates 15 county departments, a 43,000 sf probation building, a 5-level parking center, and a public plaza and courtyard.
Tanner Engineering’s responsibilities included expanding the district’s 12kV loop to serve the new government center and support buildings in downtown Fairfield, and the expansion of the co-generation plant that included doubling the electrical generation capacity of the plant from 1,450kW to 3,000 kW.
