Scripps Mercy Operating Room Remodels
Operating Rooms 4 & 5 Remodel
Scripps Mercy Hospital – Hillcrest, San Diego, CA
Scripps Mercy Hospital, located in the Hillcrest Community of San Diego is one of San Diego’s oldest hospitals, founded in 1890. The current facility was first opened in 1925 and, as one of only two Level I Trauma Centers in the region, receives more than 2,100 trauma patients each year.
As part of Scripps Mercy Hospital’s ongoing facility improvements to continually provide excellent patient care Operation Rooms 4 and 5 were extensively remodeled. This remodel went so far as to demolish many walls, allowing for the reconfiguration of this entire area of the surgical department.
The new operating rooms 4 and 5 were designed with the following features: both white and green LED lighting, New Steris surgical lights, monitor arms, booms and integration, new laminar flow HVAC System, and Lutron Graphic Eye lighting controls. The electrical distribution serving the rooms is fed by 2 critical branch transfer switches, one with a UPS backup. The project removed the non-functioning isolation panels and provided new dedicated panels for each room.
