Sharp Coronado Risk Assessment
Risk Assessment and Infrastructure Planning
Sharp Coronado Hospital – Coronado, CA
The current Sharp Coronado Hospital was built in 1970 housing 64 beds in its 4 stories. Having undergone many renovations through the years, those renovations typically used the existing electrical system, and only a project designed by Tanner Engineering in 2010 has replaced any of the existing outdated electrical equipment.
As part of an overall facility master plan and infrastructure risk assessment, Tanner Engineering performed an overall electrical system analysis of all the major system components, assessed the equipment’s condition, and provided life cycle analysis. Additionally, Tanner performed a distribution and load analysis, reviewed the NPC ratings of the existing conditions and performed utility system coordination.
The end result was a thorough report providing a “road map” for the upgrade and replacement of the various components of the electrical system. This report provides a logical, sequential order of phased construction to be performed in coordination with the facility’s seismic upgrade.
