Sharp Grossmont H&V Buildout
Sharp Heart and Vascular (H&V) Buildout
Sharp Grossmont Hospital – La Mesa, CA
Focused on expanding Sharp Grossmont Hospital’s capacity for treating heart attack and stroke patients now and well into the future, this project added two standard Cath Labs, one EP Lab, one Bi-Plane Lab (specifically tailored for stroke victims), one open heart OR, one general OR, two HYBRID ORs, and supporting spaces.
Integrating 8 different vendor’s equipment within each of the procedure rooms, this project’s ultimate challenge came when the vendors changed the imaging equipment to the latest state-of-the-art models less than 6 months from the end of construction. This required full recoordination of the systems with the construction documents and what was already installed in the field. Additionally since the equipment was brand new and had never before been installed in California, the vendor’s requirements kept changing all the way up-to their move-in date. Juggling these complicated moving parts so late in the project allowed the facility to install the “latest and greatest” equipment available, ensuring the best and most advanced care for their patients and community.
