Somerset Subacute Rehab
Somerset Subacute Rehab
San Diego, CA
Somerset Subacute Rehab saw the need for increased Subacute beds in San Diego County and decided to upgrade their facility to help to meet the need. Supporting their vision, Tanner Engineering designed the SNF to Subacute conversion to support the needed upgrade of the electrical distribution system, including:
• New upgraded Normal Power Service to accommodate increased loads.
• New 150KW Standby Emergency Power System with Multiple Automatic transfer switches, backing up the entire facility.
Any time a facility chooses to do a “change-in-use” the spaces changed are required to meet the current codes for the new use. Therefore the patient rooms and other required spaces received upgrades to bring the power and lighting up to the current requirements for subacute. In addition to the required upgrades, the SNF to Subacute conversion added a new nurse station, updated finishes through the corridors.
