Mitchell International Data Center
San Diego CA
As technology and data become more important to every business and industry, it requires more space with very specialized needs. As an existing data center outgrows its existing space, the question always becomes “Where do we find a big enough space that will also allow for future growth?” For Mitchell International, the solution was a new stand-alone tilt up building for the distribution equipment and UPS system. The new building is equipped with redundant HVAC cooling systems.
The upgraded electrical system added a 350kW engine/generator, thereby doubling the back up power capabilities to 700kW. Additionally, a 225kW UPS was added, increasing the UPS capabilities to 350 kW. At the data racks, the system is configured as 100% redundant to each rack.
This project met the owner’s requirement of “No computer outages allowed for construction.”
